The seasonal slowdown in the housing market has begun early according to Hometrack, with November registering the fifth consecutive monthly decline in house prices across England and Wales, at -0.8% (October -0.9%).
Demand for housing shrank by 4.3%, marking the largest single monthly decline since January 2009.
