That is a very helpful article. It also helps I think if you use contrasting or complimentary colors if you want a bold contemporary design. I like the idea of just repainting one wall. That might be an idea, as you can paint one wall an exact opposite of the other wall, or one that contrasts or blends with the furniture in the room if you do not plan to replace anything yet.

Great article on interior remodeling.  I've recently updated the living rooms and bathrooms with fresh coats of deep red paint and it's turned out very well.  The previous color was a bland forest green, and it was beginning to crack, so we stripped, primed and applied.  Needless to say, it was a long time coming.
