Hi, my first name is Julie. I am from the U.S. Where is everyone else from? I am assuming there are a few people from different places in the world that are involved in this forum. My interest is to get as many new ideas pertaining to modern furniture decoration as I can.

Topic: I personally liked cubed patio furniture, or rattan furnture (1 replies, posted in Porches & Decks)
If I were going to decorate a patio I would definitely want comfortable, modern furniture displayed on it. I want pieces that are both cozy as well as inviting to my guests. Yes, I would want to be able to take a nap in it too, once my guests finally leave. LOL
Also I think certain styles of rattan furniture are also very exquisite. They often come weather-protected and are easily stored. On the other hand, some people leave out their rattan outdoor furniture.

Re: How to buy a sofa? (2 replies, posted in Livingroom)
I think space is one of the most important aspects of choosing the right sofa. Of course, style matters too, whether you choose contemporary living room furniture or you combine a few classic pieces with modern furniture. You have quite a few options at your disposal.
I notice that many people like to save money purchasing reproduced models that are inspired by famous historical designers. As far as sofas are concerned one of my favorite that I would like to buy if I had the money would be one of the Charles Le Corbusier inspired selections. They look very comfortable, athough I never sat in one yet.

Re: Top 10 Ways to Add Color to a Living Room (2 replies, posted in Livingroom)
That is a very helpful article. It also helps I think if you use contrasting or complimentary colors if you want a bold contemporary design. I like the idea of just repainting one wall. That might be an idea, as you can paint one wall an exact opposite of the other wall, or one that contrasts or blends with the furniture in the room if you do not plan to replace anything yet.

Re: Living Room Basics (1 replies, posted in Livingroom)
That is true. I did not look at that article yet. However, I wonder if you address various measurement issues, as well as shapes, sizes, and styles of furniture. I am learning so much lately about proper proportions when becoming involved with interior design. It makes all the difference when you use the right combinations of pieces while doing so.

Re: Tips on Sprucing Up Old Furniture (2 replies, posted in Furniture)
Yeah, I wanted to do that and I wished that I had. I left the piece at my dad's though who lives three hours away, and I have no room for furniture at home where I stay now. I might consider picking up old furniture pieces when I move out on my own again.
Particularly modern furniture pieces. However, I know that it is also possible to find newly-produced replicas of furniture once created by top designers for a reduced price too?

Re: Tips for Choosing a Chiminea for Your Backyard or Patio (1 replies, posted in Gardening)
This sounds like a very unique idea that would help represent culture and ethicity. Yet, it keeps you warm outside during cooler months of the year. It seems like an excellent way to extend the outdoor socializing season. Would it at all look good with rattan furniture (a type of wicker furniture)?

Topic: What Type of Garden Furniture Would You Prefer? (0 replies, posted in Gardening)
I was just curious what type of garden people would prefer. I thought about doing this as a poll but there is no way to do so as I see. That would have been cool. Anyone ever use Rattan furniture outside in the garden (yard). I like the way it looks and it is weather treated.

Topic: Apparently No One has Posted in Awhile? (New Here) (2 replies, posted in Furniture)
Apparently no one has posted in awhile? I am new here, and currently learning as much as possible about all aspects of contemporary furniture and home decorating. I have been interested in this as a hobby for quite awhile, as I am very crafty and enjoy all types of arts and crafts. I look forward to meeting all of you. My first name is Julie, by the way.
