no matter how clean you are, the moist will eventually destroy your hardwood floor.. so it isn't really a good idea, and hardwood floors absorbs smells..

There are different kinds of rust removal procedure but I disagree with using TSP since it contains harmful chemicals. using lemon juice or vinegar is a good alternative.

Teak oils can be mixed with other stuffs such as lavender so that it will add fragrance to our home, I love doing these kinds of stuffs.

I do agree, we use different type of cleaning methods for different furnitures. some cleaning methods might not work at all and the worst is, it can damage our furniture so we need to know how and what to use.
