There was a time not that long ago when bathrooms existed almost as an afterthought. They tended to be small and cramped with all the charm of a dark, narrow hallway. At best, they were utilitarian but certainly not a room that anyone would willingly linger in. Contrast that with the modern bathroom; spacious, well lit and with decorative touches that make it obvious the room has gone from an afterthought to a major focus of time and attention.
These days, the Houston bathroom is more likely than ever to reflect the individual taste and style of its homeowner. Up until maybe the last five years we seemed to be continually doing the same bathroom over and over, recalls one local designer.
