			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I always thought they worked through the phone line if anything.&nbsp; &nbsp;The system is programmed to contact EMS if it isn&#039;t turned off in a certain amount of time.&nbsp; I&#039;m sure the newer ones go through the internet to speed up response time.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Most modern systems use a line signal that when it is dropped (like a cut line) triggers the alarm at the monitoring station.</p><p>Some still use dialers....but they have your mentioned short fall.</p><p>Now ya know...</p>]]></content>
